2012 All-Star Ballot: OCP Selections

All-Star balloting ends tonight - if you haven't submitted your ballot yet, you should do that (#voteforchooch).  Looking at the ballot, I was surprised at how weak a few key positions were this year.  In the AL, there really weren't many catchers out there worth voting for and starting pitching wasn't a strong point for the AL roster.  In the NL, shortstop was a weak spot as well as 2B.  With the exit of Prince Fielder to the AL and with Ryan Howard on the DL, there really weren't any legitimate selections after Joey Votto.  For that reason, I decided to go with Buster Posey as the third catcher (he's playing some first base so it works).  The AL squad will be much deeper but the NL seems to have a very formidable starting lineup.  The All-Star game should be very competitive this year.
