Jim Thome Hits Milestone: 600 Home Runs

Jim Thome belted his 600th home run last night, etching his name in the elite 600 home run club. He became just the eighth player to amass 600 home runs and he did it in fashion, becoming the first player in Major League history to hit his 599th and 600th home runs in the same game. He also gave us the quote of the night during his post-game press conference when he showed what has endeared him to so many fans in so many cities throughout his long career. Wearing his emotions on his sleeve, he said, "I mean, 600 homers, how could you ever imagine that?"

Typical Thome - always genuine, always humble and rarely seen without a smile on his face.

I'm going to re-post an article that we ran on Thome and his credentials. In my opinion, he's a sure thing hall of famer and I would vote for him on his first ballot attempt. He did it with class, he did it with humility and he did it without ever being linked to a performance enhancing drug. He was overshadowed by some big name sluggers who turned out to be cheating; take steroids out of the equation and I think we would have a better appreciation for the feats of Jim Thome.  Check out the original post on Thome below:
