Name the three players to hit home runs as teenagers (before their 20th birthdays) AND after turning 40 (after their 40th birthdays).
Can you name the Players that won MVP and Cy Young in same season?? by bballjunkies | Online Games & Trivia by Sporcle
As you know, Bert Blyleven was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame earlier this year. During his induction speech, Bert made mention to the fact that he was one of only three pitchers in baseball history that won games prior to his 20th birthday and after his 40th birthday. Name the other two pitchers that have accomplished this feat... honor system applies - good luck (I think you're going to need it).
If you've got a great trivia question capable of Stumping the Hersh, email them to me at fiduciarystandard@gmail.com.
I get really excited when I open my email and see a "Stump the Hersh." We would love to do more of these and I'm sure there are more of you out there itching to get some payback for some of Hersh's painful trivia questions... don't feel bad, he's good at twisting the dagger and he really does know his stuff... so email your questions to me at fiduciarystandard@gmail.com and I will make sure that you get your chance to Stump the Hersh. Honor system applies, Hersh... here goes:
Who was the only player in ML history to wear the name of his hometown on the back of his jersey before they started putting names on the backs of jerseys?
Charles H. from Greenwood, SC

Here's another Sporcle Quiz I created. Enjoy!!
Q: Of the players who have been selected to 13 or more All Star games, name the only two players to have played at least once for both AL and NL?
Note: There have been 23 players selected to at least 13 All Star games. There's also a bit of a twist/trick to it. Not a trick question, but one element is different now.
A reader recently submitted a trivia question on Facebook- not surprisingly, I got it wrong and that got me thinking, "Wouldn't it be great if, from time time, we posted a reader submitted trivia question for Hersh?" And so a new segment was born - Stump the Hersh (I know, not very creative... name subject to change). Logistically, here's how it will work:
Readers- send me your questions and answers via email (fiduciarystandard@gmail.com) or Facebook (we do have a For Baseball Junkies facebook page) along with the name you would like to appear on this site (First name, last initial and location). I will periodically pick a question at random to post and I will let you know when it's up so that you can see how it turns out.
Hersh - honor system applies. You won't see the question beforehand and you're not allowed to cheat, at all.
If a reader manages to Stump the Hersh, he will be entered into our Stump the Hersh Hall of Fame.
So, here goes:
From Doug H in Phoenixville, PA
Who is the only player in major league history to hit a grand slam in the All-Star game and who was the pitcher? Bonus points if you can tell me the year.
Hersh... 48 hours to post your response, bud. Good luck
Bear in mind, they had to be homerun hitters, they had to spend time in both leagues, and they had to have played through the new stadium era. Good Luck!! -Mc
